Mayo, Stella - SOUTH PACIFIC RIM (Retired)

Shelby and Stella were approved as World Baptist Fellowship missionaries to Singapore in 1968. The Mayos have served in that country as well as New Zealand and Indonesia.  In 2002 their ministry led them to Hawaii.  Bro. Mayo has spent his recent years being a mentor to young ministers around the world through "BAT" - "Baptists Assisting Timothys".  He also wrote a book about indigenous church planting that is yet to be published.     He served the Lord as a missionary with the WBF for 42 years.  Bro. Mayo went home to be with the Lord that he so faithfully served on June 22, 2010.  You may see the obituary here.  Stella is residing in Kettering, Ohio.

Shelby was saved in 1958 at a tent revival meeting at Branch Hill Baptist Church. Stella was saved at the same meeting.

The Mayos were married in Wayne, West Virginia in 1953. Their sending church is the Bible Baptist Church of Palm Harbor, Florida.

They have four children,  Jeanetta, Shelby, Barbara and Paul. 

Stella went home  to be with the Lord March 17, 2017.  Funeral services for Stella will  be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at:

Visitation will  be at the funeral home  from 10:00 to 11:00 AM before the services.  Stella was a faithful pastor's wife and missionary wife for  more than  50 years and God greatly used her and Bro. Shelby to win many souls and start indigenous independent Baptist churches in several countries in the Pacific Rim.   Obituary
