NEWSLETTER
MARCH 2010
As we look forward to springtime we also look
forward to a renewal of God’s wonderful creation.
Spring brings new growth and new life after the deadness of
winter. We also look
for a time of revival and renewal in the work of the Lord around the
world. Our missionaries are
reporting souls saved, believers baptized, and new works begun.
We need to all be in prayer that the Lord will send a great
revival to America and to the works of our faithful missionaries around
the world.
There has been a great outpouring of prayer and
financial offerings for the people of Haiti.
Bro. Jacques Alexandre reports a large number of people saved in
the days since the earthquake. They
have begun the process of trying to salvage what they can from the ruins
of their church building in Hatt (Port Au Prince).
It will take them many months to be able to rebuild their
building and home. They have
been meeting in the open air in front of the destroyed building and have
had as many as 1200 in attendance. They
are also beginning a new work in one of the tent cities that has sprung
up on the outskirts of Port Au Prince.
Pray that many more will be saved.
If you would like to make the Haiti Relief project a part of your
regular monthly missionary budget, you may send the offerings to the
Mission Office marked “Haiti Relief” at:
WBF Mission Office
P. O. Box 13459
Arlington, TX 76094
The funds will be used exclusively by Bro. and Mrs.
Alexandre in the ongoing relief and rebuilding efforts there in Haiti.
Please continue to pray for our missionaries who
are battling illness:
Betty Hawkins continues her chemotherapy treatments following surgery
for breast cancer. She will
also be undergoing reconstructive surgery in the coming months.
Monoka Brown received a good report from the surgeon following
her breast cancer surgery. They
feel they got all the cancer, but she will undergo radiation treatments
as a precautionary measure. Kannika
Tucker is recovering from surgery in Thailand for a malignant melanoma,
but her pathology reports were all good following the surgery and they
do not feel the cancer had spread. Mike
Lane received a good report on his checkup for prostate cancer.
He and Debbie have returned to the work in Honduras.
Doyle Whaley continues his battle with Alzheimer’s and
deafness. Both he and Wanda
really need your prayers. The
following missionaries continue their ongoing battles with illness:
Debi Harris, Joy
Chapman, Abigail
Mitchell, Amber Cato, Diane
Cato, Dale Brown,
Mary Gagnon, Monnie
Bacon, Gloria Higgins,
Joe &
Elaine Hawkins, Rebecca
Hawkins, Dana
McCutchen, Sandy Janky,
Charlene Neill, Linda
Carruth, Juanita
Bowen.
We appreciate each church and each individual
Christian who uphold our missionaries in prayer and financial support.
We also appreciate those who pray for our office staff and who
support the General Fund. We
could not serve our missionaries without you.
